At Dynamo Freight, our team is made up of talented individuals who come from a variety of backgrounds from around the country. We sat down with Steven Forrai, one of our Capacity Solutions Coordinators, to learn more about how his background led to beginning his career at Dynamo.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I attended Slippery Rock University and graduated with a degree in Safety Management. While at Slippery Rock I played on the club baseball team as well as played intramural flag football and was able to compete in the intramural flag football national championship in Pensacola, Florida.
How did you first hear about Dynamo?
I found out about Dynamo when searching on job boards when looking for a logistics position in the Pittsburgh area. I was living in Philadelphia and wanted to move back home to Pittsburgh and make the change from a Safety Based position to a Logistics position and Dynamo was the perfect fit!
How did you become interested in going into the logistics industry?
I became interested in logistics industry while with my previous logistics company. I worked in a safety/environmental role at the time and realized I enjoyed the logistics side of things. So, I ended up deciding to make a change and pursue a position in logistics!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is the people I work with! Everyone at Dynamo is very supportive and we all work as great team and makes a very productive and fun work environment! I also enjoy getting to know and building relationships with our customers!!
What keeps you at Dynamo?
The opportunity and the workplace. Our company is rapidly growing and expanding which creates so many opportunities for growth here at Dynamo. I have never been in a workplace like the one we have here! We have such a great and fun group of people! Everyone supports each other and we are all striving towards the same goals!
If you could go back in time and tell yourself one thing about your job search, what would it be?
Find a job that you enjoy doing! There are so many opportunities out there to explore. You are never tied down to your degree and can always make a change in your career if it’s something you have an interest in. I have a degree in Safety Management and found an interest in logistics, so I decided to take a shot and make a change!
For someone about to start a career in sales and logistics, what would you tell them?
Be highly motivated and determined. Be willing to learn, set goals, and have that drive to achieve those goals. Make sure you know the industry as best as you can and be confident when talking with potential customers. The sky’s the limit in sales if you work hard, you can become as successful as you want to be!
